I am a total newbie. I don't know much about the market.

You need to learn a few things.

- fundamental analysis


- technical analysis


- Valuation multiples

Once you know all these, you will be a good stock trader.

Just google these 3 stuff, and learn everything from the internet for free. You can also learn in forums, like YAHOO Forums or this forum. Just ask questions, and someone would most probably answer.

Dun blindly listen to Cramer, Fast money, but do note their advice. It is quite interesting.
